Over 100 years ago, back with Woodrow Wilson was President James H. “Cantaloupe” Smith formed a melon packing and growing operation in Turlock, CA. It was hard work but I’m proud to say that my children and the traditions that I started have been passed down. They still farm with the same pride, quality, respect for the land and standard of excellence that I did way back when.

"Staying innovative as a century old company has been exciting, there have been many changes for the better."
Steve Smith

The company remains today a family-owned
and operated farming business run by James Smith’s son Don, his grandson Steve, and his
great-grandson Alec.

Technology and advances in agricultural have filtered into the operations that you see today but after all these years, one thing we’ve learned is that there are no shortcuts
to providing the constant, high-quality
Turlock Fruit products you’ve come to expect.
